Controversial Revelations: Chandler Jones Unearths Startling Insights about Raiders Coach and Owner via Social Media

Pass rusher Chandler Jones went live on X, formerly known as Twitter, early Thursday morning and made unsupported allegations about members of the Las Vegas Raiders organization during a rambling, 25-minute-long monologue.

The video comes after Jones, 33, wrote in a social media post Monday that he was recently hospitalized “against my will” by the Las Vegas Fire Department and later taken to a behavioral health center. Jones shared photos of what appeared to be journal entries and a patient bill of rights for a mental health facility.

In his entries, Jones wrote that “the police said that people were concerned about me because of my posts online” and “I’m still confused on what I did wrong.”

On Sept. 20, the Raiders placed Jones on the non-football illness list. When asked about Jones last week, coach Josh McDaniels said he had “no updates.”

Jones had already been away from the team for two weeks when he went on the NFI list, and he missed the team’s final training camp practice on Aug. 31. On Sept. 5, Jones accused the Raiders on Instagram of barring him from team headquarters, stating, among other things, that he no longer wanted to play for the Raiders and had an issue with McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler.

Jones has expressed multiple times his desire to play football but has been denied the opportunity. He previously made allegations against Raiders owner Mark Davis, suggesting that Davis holds a “secret” that would explain Jones’ absence from the team.

Three weeks ago, Jones stated on social media that the Raiders sent a crisis response team and police officers to his Las Vegas home. Additionally, he mentioned that representatives from the NFLPA had attempted to contact him.

When contacted Thursday about Jones’ comments, the Raiders stated that they had no updates to provide. The NFLPA also did not release an official statement.

The Athletic has reached out to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and Las Vegas Fire & Rescue regarding Jones’ claims, but they have yet to confirm the existence of a case file related to any incident involving Jones.
