Aug. 28 (UPI) — Award-winning actress Constance Wu and talented actor Corbin Bleu are set to captivate the audience in a magnificent rendition of the classic musical Little Shop of Horrors.
Known for her remarkable performances in Fresh Off the Boat and Crazy Rich Asians, Wu will portray the iconic character Audrey, while Bleu, celebrated for his role on Glee, will bring the lovable character Seymour to life in this Off-Broadway revival.
Wu and Bleu shared their excitement in a captivating video where they discussed their newfound passion for gardening during a charming FaceTime call.
Little Shop of Horrors, featuring an enchanting score by Alan Menken and brilliant lyrics and book by Howard Ashman, had previously been adapted into a beloved 1986 film starring Rick Moranis and Ellen Greene as Seymour and Audrey.
The highly-anticipated performances by Wu and Bleu will commence on September 21 at the prestigious Westside Theatre in New York City.
Reflecting on her involvement in this production, Wu expressed her deep affinity for the musical: “Little Shop has always held a special place in my heart since I first witnessed a community production during my upbringing in Richmond, Virginia. The music is truly sensational, and I deeply resonate with the character of Audrey.
