Climate change activism becoming the norm in American schools

EXCITING NEWS!You can now listen to Fox News articles!

In addition to the ongoing issues surrounding diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and critical race theory (CRT) in our education system, there is a new concern emerging: the climate change agenda.

Several states, including New Jersey, California, Connecticut, and New York, are actively promoting legislation to incorporate climate change lessons into every K-12 subject, ranging from foreign languages to math and physical education.

This deliberate attempt to shape an entire generation into a new wave of Greta Thunbergs is shocking, especially when considering the dismal proficiency levels among students. Parents, teachers, and students should be outraged.

According to the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), only a small percentage of eighth graders demonstrate proficiency in reading, math, civics, and American history. These alarming statistics should be a wake-up call.

THE INDOCTRINATION PROGRAM IN OUR SCHOOLS IS TERRIFYING OUR CHILDREN

While it is important to address climate change in science classes, it is unacceptable to use other subjects as a platform for advancing a political agenda.

New Jersey, as the first state to integrate climate change standards across all subjects, provides a glimpse into the indoctrination happening in classrooms. The state’s Department of Education mandates that climate change and climate solutions be approached from a climate justice perspective, resulting in unabashed indoctrination efforts.

In foreign language classes, students are taught about “global citizenry” and the “impact of climate change.” Math teachers are required to incorporate climate change into word problems, charts, and graphs. Social studies lessons focus on climate change, with the goal of planning and proposing advocacy projects on the topic.

New Jersey’s physical education standards mention climate change multiple times, but fail to address the danger of obesity. This clear bias in the curriculum is concerning.

By manipulating young minds, we hinder their academic growth and prevent the development of critical analysis and problem-solving skills. Indoctrination restricts independent thought and promotes a one-sided perspective. Unfortunately, that is precisely the intended outcome.

While our public schools indoctrinate the next generation into the climate change doctrine, the Biden administration and its allies are implementing misguided climate policies that harm the economy, destroy jobs, and burden taxpayers. Our youngest minds are being trained to serve as proponents of excessive government control.

Furthermore, incorporating climate change into every subject deprives our children of a well-rounded education. Each subject plays a vital role in shaping informed and knowledgeable students. However, when these subjects are merely used to promote a political agenda, students only receive diluted versions of the essential skills associated with each subject.

FOR INSTANCE, when foreign languages are used to push climate agendas, linguistic proficiency takes a backseat. Physical education, which should focus on health and active lifestyles, becomes overshadowed by climate change discussions and neglects important topics like obesity prevention. Math, a subject crucial for logical reasoning and problem-solving, loses its core purpose when it becomes a tool for promoting climate change activism.

Social studies is meant to teach history and governance, essential knowledge for cultivating informed citizens. However, when climate change advocacy is forced into social studies, it undermines the subject, particularly when students lack a solid foundation in these fundamental principles.

The push to incorporate climate change into every subject comes at a time when our education system is already deteriorating, with historically low student performance. Climate change curricula divert attention from the essential material that students need to learn and serve as a distraction from the underlying issues plaguing our schools. Rather than fostering critical thinkers capable of analyzing complex issues from multiple perspectives, the aim is to create activists.

IT IS TIME TO TAKE BACK OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM

Parents, teachers, and concerned citizens must unite to reclaim our education system from those who prioritize political indoctrination over genuine learning. Our young minds deserve an education that empowers them to become informed, engaged, and responsible citizens.

JOIN THE MOVEMENT

We demand an end to the politicization of curricula and instead advocate for an education that focuses on developing critical thinking skills, fostering well-rounded knowledge, and encouraging independent thought.
