In a display of wit and ambition, former Tesla CEO Elon Musk has expressed his desire for a highly anticipated charity “cage fight” between himself and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg to take place in a remarkable location, such as Italy.
On X, previously known as Twitter, Musk confidently stated, “The fight will be managed by my and Zuck’s foundations (not UFC). Livestream will be on this platform and Meta. Everything in camera frame will be ancient Rome, so nothing modern at all.”
Furthermore, Musk disclosed that he had already consulted with the Prime Minister of Italy and the Minister of Culture, both of whom had agreed on an epic location for the event.
Demonstrating his longstanding support for veterans, Musk declared that any proceeds from the charity fight would be dedicated to them.
Responding to Musk’s enthusiasm, Zuckerberg expressed skepticism about the event’s actual occurrence, citing Musk’s indecision regarding the timing. Nevertheless, Musk mentioned the time was “in flux” due to the possibility of minor surgery that he may require beforehand.
Undeterred, the Facebook co-founder confirmed his readiness to embrace the challenge, stating, “I love this sport and I’ve been ready to fight since the day Elon challenged me. If he ever agrees on an actual date, you’ll hear it from me,” as he shared on Threads, Meta’s newest social platform. Zuckerberg further urged caution, emphasizing that any statements made by Musk should be considered unconfirmed until an agreement is reached.
Elaborating on alternative possibilities, Musk expressed on Thursday that a “noble” debate could be a potential resolution instead of a physical confrontation.
Supporting this notion, when a user suggested the idea of a debate, Musk responded, “That sounds like a good idea too.”
