Desperate Democrats resort to ‘Django’ smear campaign against Clarence Thomas

The efforts made by Democrats to tarnish the reputation of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas through baseless ethics complaints have not yielded any significant results. Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, however, has taken a more traditional approach by demeaning Thomas. In an interview with Michigan Chronicle, Ellison compared Thomas to Samuel L. Jackson’s character in the movie “Django Unchained,” who is known for assisting his oppressors in torturing and killing fellow slaves.

Attacks on Thomas based on his race have been commonplace since the unsubstantiated allegations of sexual misconduct were raised against him during Joe Biden’s Senate Judiciary Committee in 1991. It is clear that Thomas is a constant target for the left, especially as the Supreme Court dismantles many unconstitutional policies favored by Democrats.

Not long ago, Samuel L. Jackson himself referred to Thomas as “Uncle Clarence,” a term also used by MSNBC’s Joy Reid. Both spread the conspiratorial belief that Thomas was working towards overturning the legality of interracial marriage, despite the fact that no one in America opposes it, including Thomas, who is married to a white woman. These attacks are not new, with Democrats like Rep. Bennie Thompson using derogatory terms like “Uncle Tom” to describe Thomas.

Now that Thomas is part of a majority that has upheld both the 14th Amendment and the Civil Rights Act, ruling affirmative action as illegal, the frustration among Democrats is growing. Ellison believes that Thomas is not fulfilling his duty as a Supreme Court justice and should be impeached. However, Ellison fails to even mention the Constitution or the rule of law in his criticisms, viewing the judicial system merely as a tool for advancing policy and power.

Ellison’s understanding of Thomas’ commitment to upholding the Constitution seems misguided at best. It appears that Ellison disregards the principles and values of the American founding, choosing instead to define individuals solely based on their race. Thomas, on the other hand, remains steadfast in his refusal to dismiss these foundational ideals as inherently racist.

It is interesting to note the stark contrast between Thomas and Ellison as individuals, which further demonstrates that one’s skin color does not determine their abilities or character. Ellison, who grew up in privileged suburban surroundings, may have had the luxury of pretending to be a revolutionary. Thomas, however, experienced the challenges of growing up in Georgia during the Jim Crow era and undoubtedly possesses a greater understanding of racism and the responsibilities of his role.

Ultimately, Ellison’s attempt to smear Thomas by comparing him to a murderous house slave is regrettable, especially considering his own background and the power he holds over his fellow citizens. It is clear that Thomas’ unwavering commitment to the principles of the American founding should be celebrated, rather than condemned based on superficial characteristics.
