Universal Studios Hollywood has officially confirmed plans for an exciting new roller coaster inspired by the popular “Fast & Furious” film franchise.
In a statement, theme park officials described the ride as “a state-of-the-art experience that will fully immerse guests in the thrilling world of ‘Fast & Furious’.”
While specific details about the coaster have not been released, construction is set to begin soon. The park has not announced an official opening date.
Rumors and speculation about this new attraction have been circulating among coaster enthusiasts and park-goers in recent months. Some early conceptual renderings and videos have surfaced online, suggesting that the ride will be called “Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift” and will feature spinning cars that replicate the sensation of a drifting racecar.
A permit application for the project described the coaster’s general layout, stating that it will start on the park’s upper lot, descend to the lower lot, and then ascend back up the hill near the “Starway” escalator.
It’s worth noting that Universal Studios already offers a popular “Fast & Furious — Supercharged” attraction as part of its backlot tram tour. This experience includes appearances by actors from the film franchise, including the renowned Vin Diesel.
