Two individuals accused of breaking into a business in Palm Desert and stealing merchandise worth approximately $40,000 have entered pleas of not guilty for the burglary charges. Michael James Graham, a 53-year-old resident of Lakewood in Los Angeles County, and Ali Danielle Castillo, a 27-year-old resident of Orange County, are facing one felony count of burglary according to court records. Their next court appearance is scheduled for June 23, where a felony settlement conference will take place.
On Friday at 4:26 a.m., deputies from the Palm Desert station of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department responded to an alarm call in the 73400 block of El Paseo, as confirmed by Sgt. Emil Stan. Reports indicate that Graham allegedly punched through a window to gain entry to the business and stole merchandise estimated to be worth $40,000, while Castillo served as the lookout and getaway driver. Stan stated, “Deputies apprehended the suspects in their getaway vehicle, a white Chevy Suburban, in the unincorporated area of Anza. A search of their vehicle was conducted, leading to the recovery of the stolen property.”
Graham and Castillo have been detained without bail at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning. Additionally, they are facing one count each of burglary and vandalism in a separate case filed on Wednesday.
