During an exciting team event on Tuesday’s Wheel of Fortune, a 92-year-old mother and her son not only managed to score over $65,000 in prize money but also won over the hearts of the show’s hosts, Pat Sajak and Vanna White, as well as the viewers at home and in the studio.

This week’s Wheel of Fortune theme is “Home for the Holidays,” featuring team-based gameplay instead of the traditional individual contestant format. The mother-son duo of Liz and KC Wright took on a brother-brother team and a sister-sister team to compete for the top spot.

Here’s the breakdown of how the Wright team fared throughout the game.

KC spoke of his mother, saying, “She spent the first 88 years of her life in Oklahoma with my dad. They, for 62 years, traveled the world, a hundred countries and seven continents. He passed, she moved down five years ago to be with me. And I say, you know, the first 18 years of my life you taught me how to use a spoon, do all the things, watch Wheel of Fortune. And then the last five years I’ve been able to try to give something back to her.” Liz described KC as “the greatest father in the world.”

Immediately after introductions, Liz correctly guessed the puzzle, THE ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME, and remarked, “That’s this,” referring to her experience on the show. Sajak was visibly impressed and said, “You’re just toying with us aren’t you, Liz?” Later, Liz also solved the puzzle HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS and won a trip to the island of Antigua. Her successful puzzle-solving, along with some contributions from KC, earned the team $25,500 in prize money and a spot in the Bonus Round.

In the final round, Liz chose the Food and Drink category and managed to unlock the puzzle DRIZZLED HONEY, adding $40,000 to bring the total to $65,500 along with the trip. Sajak, amazed by their performance, quipped, “You know the longer I’m with this show, the less I understand it.”

Both Sajak and White expressed their admiration for Liz’s performance. White even appeared on TikTok with Liz to share that this episode was her favorite in 41 years of working on the show. Social media responses showed viewers were also captivated by Liz’s remarkable display, with many calling it one of their favorite Wheel of Fortune episodes ever.

KC also expressed gratitude for their experience, taking to social media to write, “Mom (Liz) & I are so incredibly blessed with this experience. The entire Wheel of Fortune team and family are amazing.”

The episode concluded with Sajak and White thanking Liz for her amazing display and expressing their delight at her continued support of the show.
